Overview
About Me
I think I'm friendly, or at least towards friendly people. Sometimes shy to start with when meeting new people, but that doesn't stick around once I get to know someone. I suppose I'm well dressed generally. More information about what I like and what I'm into is listed below in interests and such.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To easily find lovely local people to stay with when abroad, who hopefully have similar interests to me. Saving on accommodation would be nice too. If I'm ever in a position where I am able to host someone, I would be quite open to doing so.
Interests
Swing and hip hop dancing, hats, dandyism, vintage clothes and culture (mostly Victorian and Edwardian through to the 1930s), good food which doesn't cost a small fortune, and like-minded people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm fairly diverse in my music tastes. I like anything from early blues and ragtime, manouche/gypsy, and hot jazz, as well as classic funk and soul, rock, and old school hip hop.
My favourite films include High Fidelity, The Rocketeer, Jurassic Park, The Mummy (1999 remake film, though the original is good too), The Artist, Midnight In Paris, and so many others: http://letterboxd.com/blakesby/
I'm a bit of a slow and sporadic reader, but my two favourites include The Importance of Being Earnest and High Fidelity. Reading a lot of Wilde at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
No one thing immediately comes to mind as being especially amazing. As I write this, I am awaiting an upcoming trip to America soon, and I should think that will become the amazing thing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to make hats, and I'm especially keen to learn more in this regard, as well as swing and hip hop dancing.
Willing to teach anyone how to charleston.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not really sure.
Like I mentioned, I can probably teach you how to charleston. I guess that's something, at least.
