About Me

Chatty, bubbly, easy going. Currently a fine art student/ welding extraordinaire. Aspiring to be an adventurer. I'm from a small town in the midwest, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons and take in as much of the world around me as I can. This summer September - October I will be doing my first backpacking adventure through Europe. This is very nerve racking for me just because what I've learned from doing other cross country trips, it is very hard to plan a lot of things in advance. I have faith that It will be amazing and I will learn and grow so much as a person.

I'm married to a wonderful person that will be accompanying me on my travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really think it is a great way to learn about the places you are traveling to. Staying with locals can open your eyes to experiences you would have never had the opportunity to do by just staying in an airbnb or hostel.

Interests

art, music, good books, travel, FOOD

Music, Movies, and Books

I love me some old school punk, and all the genres it has created/ influenced. My tastes are really broad, though. As of lately my playlists have consisted of Joyce Manor, G. Love & Special Sauce, No Problem, Neck Deep, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, the Fratellis, Say Anything, etc.

As far as books go I'm trying to do this thing where I try not to read things written by white guys; mostly because that's what all my favorites seem to have in common! Hemingway, Bukowski, Vonnegut. I also really love comic books and graphic novels.

I recently did my Senior BFA thesis on horror movies, and peoples' psychological interest in the grotesque and violent. Really I love foreign films to just watch and enjoy. La Haine, Fantastic Planet, Dog Tooth, Battle Royale, anything Jacques Tati I will probably love! Love film so much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 I went on a 2 week road trip across the country. It was scary, and exciting, and hard sometimes, but it was the most exciting thing I have ever accomplished. Now I want to tackle something bigger!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn everything about you and your wonderful home. Or you can just point me in the general direction, I'm not picky.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some awesome stories, and hopefully some really cool conversations and adventures. I want to share really meaningful experiences, growing a little bit more from my life before I knew them.

Countries I’ve Visited
