About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To laugh often and much!

ABOUT ME

I was born in small town Minnesota where I learned how to trust other people, help other people and be helped by other people, I went to university in Duluth, Minnesota. I love the outdoors and being with nature. I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence 15 years ago and fell in love with france, the french language, and the culture. Travel, language learning, and living away from home has become an addiction. Getting to know local culture and customs is very important, I want to teach and use stories from my travels. Now, I hope to infect my daughter Sakura with a curiosity for the world.

PHILOSOPHY

"Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they will never cease to be amused" Try not to take myself too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

These days I mostly just participate in spirit. I was a co-host for an English Radio Program in Buenos Aires, The Typical Mistake and we did a show about Couchsurfing! Check it out in the archives. http://thetypicalmistake.com/archive.php

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I popped my couchsurfing cherry in Italy and had one of the top 5 greatest days of my life! Carnevale Liberato!!!!

Interests

I enjoy learning about other cultures and the way people live their daily lives around the world. I keep busy with sports, music, movies, and of course my daughter Sakura. My favorite pastime is people watching!

Music, Movies, and Books

The first thing I do when I get home at night and wake up in the morning is turn on music. I like all kinds, one of my favorite artists is Bob Dylan, we have lived in the same town! If I were stranded on a deserted island, I would appreciate plenty of George Orwell and/or Kurt Vonnegut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two of the most amazing place I have seen in my life are les calanques in Cassis in the south of France and the Nepali coast in Kaui. Absolutely amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share
