Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed and hosted over the years. Lately I've been without a home to host in, but I look forward to hosting again in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A group of us walked from NYC to Washington DC, and stayed with many couchsurfers along the way. It was an overwhelmingly positive experience, and we met a plethora of generous people. I also used it to walk through the south of France for a few days, staying with surfers along the way. When I was able to, I hosted people in my old loft in NYC, a few of whom I have stayed in touch with.
Interests
I often enjoy walking around in circles.
- walking
- traveling
- cycling
- tours
- beaches
Music, Movies, and Books
It depends on the day... right now I have been reading Junot Diaz, a book on the Dutch settlement of New York: The Island at the Center of the World, and a heap of Gore Vidal.
I enjoy listening to Neil Young, Fiona Apple, Stockhausen, Yoko Ono, among many others...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent three weeks walking from Brooklyn to DC and stayed with many couchsurfers along the way. I also got to spend a couple of months biking through the Rockies on a bike trek from Seattle to Wyoming. Most recently I walked for a week through the South of France (with much time spent lying on the beach.)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am good at planning bike and walking tours and can perhaps help you plan future travel.
