PHILOSOPHY
I find that I learn more by watching and listening than talking too much (although I might be good at that too). Go outside though, see what you can see.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Spreading the good word. Surfing when I can, hosting when my roommate is a nut (and otherwise). Are there meetings? I got to get with this stuff.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Riding bikes all night in Vienna, walking the precarious path in Bratislava, walking the streets of Guatemala City, sleeping on the bathroom floor in Linz, and, more recently, having people come and stay with me. It's pretty sweet, I can tell you all kind of inane things about Seattle that you won't get elsewhere.
Interests
Reading, everything.
Living, everywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite Czech author is Hrabal. My favorite ancient philosopher is Aristotle, my favorite modern philosopher is Mortimer J. Adler, my favorite fantasy series is Dragonlance but my favorite fantasy author is R.A. Salvatore and lately my favorite all-around author is Ernest Hemingway. I read pretty much everything though as I've nearly had to since leaving the US and I love it.
I had a top 5 list of movies once, I think it had Full Metal Jacket, Fight Club, Devil's Advocate and I don't remember what else on it. It's at least 10 years old. More recently I'd add The Wind the Shakes the Barley, Goodbye Lenin and Blame if on Fidel.
Music, I don't know, I cruise around youtube often trying to short it out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
New Orleans was pretty amazing. Oktoberfest can't be compared. Mt. Rainer from the Aurora Bridge on a clear day is spectacular, so is the top of Whistler and the sea. Europe is splendid. Volcan Pacaya isn't as hard as people would have you believe but worth the trip. Tikal was interesting, a huge place from a, largely, dead society. Semuc Champey reigns as my favorite spot in Guatemala. Still going and seeing though, it's all be good.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about beer, English, a foreigners perspective on the Czech Republic or Guatemala, an Idahoans perspective on the world (both mine and a "typical" Idahoan). I can teach you how to read a book, how to swear and how to sleep on a floor. I could try and teach you some Czech or Spanish or German although that might not go as well.
I want to learn any languages you speak that I don't. I want to learn about your place, where you live. I want to find out what it's like and what it's about.
I also want to learn to cook. I've realized this recently. TEACH ME!
