Hi, my name is Blandine. I'm from France and I've been traveling a bit these last two years. I am trying to find a job in my country but so far the hunt isn't going well. However if we see the good side it means I have time to travel. I've been doing summer jobs since I was 17. I volunteered in 3 music festivals. I also spent 8 months teaching elders video games in retirement houses. I like sports, plants and I am outgoing when I travel even if I sometimes need a little time to open up. I just finished a one month road trip in Italy with a friend and right after we started Interrailing through Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I mostly stayed in hotels or Airbnb and it feels wrong to not connect with the culture more. I don't want to lay around in a corporate looking hotel. When I went to Germany I was staying in a campsite and it was much more easier to connect with people. That's how you get to learn more about different cultures and get the best experience from your trip. I would like to host when I have my own apartment. I know the struggle to search for good accomadation too well. But for now I sleep on my mom's sofa when I'm not traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Munich and drove to Austria to visit a friend. On the way back to France, I took a stranger in my car to drive and she offered me to sleep at her place if I didn't know where to stay. We had a great exchange and she helped me. I would have been sleeping in my car if we didn't share a ride. She even gave me recommendations on what to visit.

Swimming in Italy during a road trip, got out of the water to have dinner on the beach and we saw dolphins right where I was swimming minutes ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share French words and sayings. I know rollerskate. I like to say I have a green thumb. I could water/pamper your plants. I'm always willing to learn. My motto is everything is worth experiencing at least once. Who knows it might be useful one day.
