CURRENT MISSION

To figure out what we want to do with the next 10 years, and to make them as interesting as the last 10.

ABOUT ME

We are particularly looking to host people in town for the Stop Watching Us rally and Lobby Day October 25th-26th! We support people who stand up for what they believe in, so when there is a rally in DC that we agree with, we like to host several groups and fill up the apartment. When this happens the bed, futon and couch fill up fast, and people sleep on the floor, but it's a party and we all bond. If you'll need a place to stay, let us know!

It's easier for us to accept requests with little notice - even just a day or two. Our main passion is weightlifting, but we promise we're not scary. Powerlifting, Strongman, Crossfit, even bodybuilding. Check out Andy's youtube videos at http://www.youtube.com/user/Blenderate !

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're tied to our jobs, so we've only been able to host so far. But, that has been an exciting mix of people from different countries and walks of life. Hopefully we can get some surfing in soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We started by hosting nine girls from the PSU Synchronized Swim Team. This first experiment with couch surfing went really well - they all fit in the apartment we have in our basement and we ran three coffee pots in the morning to wake everyone up. They even prepared for their meet by putting Knoxx gelatin in their hair, (weird but true), in our bathrooms! With the money they've saved by couch surfing throughout the year, they're going to go to nationals in Texas!

We also hosted a band more recently (six people). They were super interesting, and they gave us tickets to their DC show! Then we hosted 4 different groups at once (12 people) who were in town for the Forward On climate rally. Really dedicated people who marched to the white house during a super windy and cold DC winter day. Our most prestigious surfers so far have been a large group of Native Americans in town to meet with the white house.

Since our "couch" is really a full apartment, it looks like our couchsurfing niche is to host larger groups. Which is fine with us!

I like big books, and I cannot lie! (If you get that reference, you're pretty cool.) Robert Jordan, Carl Hiaasen, too many to name. Beka built a floor-to-ceiling bookcase in our living room, and books are stacked two rows deep on the shelves, which are, um... Sagging precariously.

Movies / TV: We've never had a television, but we have seen one before. :) Star Wars, Firefly / Serenity

Music: Metallica, Dream Theater, Linkin Park, Ben Folds, Counting Crows, and AWOLNATION is pretty sweet, too.

We are partial to the flying spaghetti monster and the reddit alien.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

We had the awesome opportunity to be two of those storied teenagers running dot-coms during the late 1990's boom... And bust. Six companies in about two years that all were either snapped up by other companies in the mad dash to secure internet holdings, or went bankrupt in the frenzy. Only one survived to this day.
