Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Discover, learn, move, challenge myself and ... Make life interesting !

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

** I'm really sorry but I can't host anyone for the moment: I am renting a little place with my other half and we are still storting out furniture and boxes... But if you visit Besançon (France) or Stratford-upon-Avon (England), contact me and I'll give you tips, ideas and I'll try to be as helpful as I can ;) **

I'm on Couchsurfing as I'd like to travel and discover this big big world as much as I can, while I can, and meet different (and friendly, it's important!) people and give back what I was given. I don't have a lot of Couchsurfing experience at the moment, but every host and guest I met was wonderful, and some of them became friends that I'll invite and visit soon enough.
Enjoying learning new things with new persons, sharing common interests and different points of view, creating good memories and stories to tell sounds great to me. I'm also discovering and trying to prove myself that I CAN travel and that there are interesting, fun and nice people to meet everywhere

I'm a beginner-adventurer: I feel the urge to move, experiment, see and share... but I don't have a lot of experience. Yet. :)

Next projects: roadtrip in the US / Mongolia / Scandinavia.
Oh, and get my motorbike driving licence. And a bike.
Learn to play bass guitar and sing.
Learn loads of different skills and techniques: make delicious spicy hot drinks like a barista, how to make cheese, create jewellery with very ancient techniques, have a go at horseback archery, learning to dance Rock properly...

Intereses

Historical cooking (and moderns, French or not, recipes too)
Food. Experiment foreign gastronomy is amazing!

Archaeology (if you make it fun and entertaining, it just rocks)
Living history / reenactment (Romans and Celts)

Music / concerts
Boards games, some video games, RPG games
Arts and crafts (especially ancient techniques)
Artistic fencing (like musketeers and pirates in films)
Travelling (how surprising is that?!)

... and so much more

Música, películas y libros

Books:
I'm a total fan of Terry Pratchett's novels: the Discworld series.
"There and back again, to see how far it is", Tim Watson. (Discovered a couple of weeks ago, I find it amazingly energizing)

Music:
I love rock & metal, from classic rock with blues accents, to heavier stuff. But also pop, folk, inspiring lyrics... and you even can catch me listening to gregorian songs, oriental-metal and weird music mix. Afterall, it always depends on the mood, isn't it?
I'm open-minded and enjoy almost every kind of music, so don't hesitate to make me discover yours!
Bands: Volbeat, ShakaPonk, Offsprings, Pink, Mass Hysteria, Red Fang, Lucas Turilli, AC/DC, Aldebert, Mika, System of a Down,Le Cirque des Mirages, Medieval music as well... eeerr... and a lot more. I'm just super bad with bands' names. And the lyrics too (come on, imagine listening to lyrics in a foreign language: yeah, that's how complicated it is to enjoy music as a non-native English speaker. Strange isn't it?)

Movies:
Adventure, action, comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, history, swashbuckler (movies with swords and musketeers or pirates and romance and bravery and... all that), stupid-humour, documentaries... All the Nick Frost & Simon Pegg movies (Hot Fuzz, Paul, The World's End, etc), Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, Good Morning England, Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure, Indiana Jones, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers / Thor, Intouchables, Monty Pythons - Life of Brian, Night at the Museum, War Horse...
I'm just not likely to watch horror, psychological, hyper-philosophical movies, nor supra-girly-love-stories.
I love animated movies and series, japanimation as well (Myazaki)
Series: Grimm, Vikings, Supernatural, Breaking Bad, Kaamelott... culinary shows ;)

Algo increíble que he hecho

I've absolutely changed my whole life, way of living and vision of the world in a year. Hard to explain, but to me that's just immense.

Leaving everything to move to England. Twice.

Fighting Roman comrades with spear and shiel, then spending nights laughing around a campfire!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I want to discover food and drinks from all around the world, especially traditional and ancient recipes, but also techniques to brew / bake / cook / make cheese / preserve... Yup, all that.
For me discovering a new country, culture or period of history is impossible without experiencing its cuisine, as simple as it can seem to be!

I also have to see Bollywood movies, get my motorbike driving licence and learn how to play bass guitar. Odd & Rock'n Roll mix, for sure!

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can teach you some French (or help with English if you're not fluent at all)
Talk about archaeology and reenactment/living history, or arts and crafts and techniques for ages, IF you're interested in these topics of course
I love hearing about stories and ideas of other people, especially around a good coffee, cider, beer, home-made-special-beverage and good food ;)
I can bake excellent scones (Englishsort of cakes for tea), French patisseries, crepes, anything with a good cheese and some other meals, but also historical food! I'm fond of it. If you fancy tasting a Roman diner, 16th century recipes or a Victorian/18th century cake, let me know (it's edible, I promise :) )
