Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host more than I can currently. I love couchsurfers and the great community of trusting and caring people on here. It makes me feel so good to know that other people can help out if I need a place to stay when I am travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many unofficial couchsurfers as well as people from online stay with me and I have definitely crashed on others couches.

Interests

I am designing a punk/knitwear collection in my spare time when I am not working at my non-profit job, where I help people who dont have a place to stay find work.

Music, Movies, and Books

note I listen to podcasts, radio and audio documentaries/shows more than I watch televison, movies, and probably even more than I read books normally. If you want to talk about public radio, this american life, radiolab, the moth or anything else of that nature, I'm your guy.

books: I am an avid reader. My primary focus of study has been race, gender, immigration, and sexuality. I love reading about food, agricultural economy, gardening, cooking. Existentialist literature is also important to me. My favorite living authors (recreational reading) if i had to choose david sedaris, bill bryson and jonathan safran foer. I really like e. e. cummings.

films: also incredibly hard to narrow down. in no particular order... Waking Life, Coen brothers, Donnie Darko, Harold and Maude, Wristcutters: A Love Story, The Jacket, Brideshead Revisited, Fight Club, Shawn of the Dead, Ma Vie En Rose, I <3 Huckabees, Snatch, B Movies, Woody Allen, koyaaniskatsi (that whole trilogy), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Studio Ghibli, Little Miss Sunshine, 10 Things I Hate About You (guilty pleasure).

music: indie rock, underground (jazzy) rap/hip hop, folk punk, punk punk, dark cabaret, funk, folk, zydeco, lot of international, sometimes dance music... I have too much music to elaborate
