About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cycling the world!

ABOUT ME

thought i would 'find' myself while travelling, instead I think I found that life is too short to spend in just 1 country. My life is about seeing and attempting to understand as much about the world and the people in it as I can, while at the same time minimising my environmental impact.

PHILOSOPHY

take every opportunity available to you. no one ever lay on their death bed and lamented; if only I'd done LESS with my life.
and remember; those who wander aren't necesarily lost.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My life is travel. My work requires constant travel which I intersperse with backpacking and bikepacking and so I've been privileged to have experienced over a decade of wonderful couch surfing experiences both hosting and being hosted. Expats, locals, every host adds a greater depth to a place.

Interests

Travel, travel, travel, cycle touring, running, yoga, studying languages, hiking, camping, festivals, reading travel books, playing pool,

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm living in a britpop-timewarp. However I've recently been introduced to Teseract and Sevendust, and love Ball Park Music. I never miss Woodford Folk Festival when I'm in Australia.

Favourite film? Into The Wild, the soundtrack too.

I love reading about other peoples adventures in travel books; Full Tilt by Dervla Murphy is one of my favourites, along with A Short Walk In The Hindu Kush by Eric Newby.
I love talking travel, exchanging travel stories, and of course - visa advice!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm just recently returned from cycling around and through outback Australia.
Before that I also sheltered from a hurricane in the caldera of an active volcano in Antarctica. I swear I'm not making that up

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach;
*English and elementary Spanish
*how to make a stove from a drink can
*wild-camping
*How to bicycle tour
*basic bike maintenance and packing for ascetics

What I Can Share with Hosts

My background is English and I'm afraid so are my cooking skills... However! I can cook you a Sunday roast, full English brekkie, Cornish pasties, various English puds and Devonshire cream tea.
I'm also rather adept at untying knots and a willing, if not gifted, washer-upper
