About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To sail the seas of cheese.

ABOUT ME

I'm an artist, a poet, an educator, and a life long learner. The world is my playground and I intend to jump on all the equipment (this really just plays into my love of bounce castles). I'm an easy going, free spirit, who loves to laugh. I can get just as much enjoyment from having a heated political discussion as I can from seeing who can get highest on the swings. I'm a librarian by trade and a hippie at heart. Love meeting new people and going on adventures!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we should challenge ourselves and push our boundaries. It might not always be comfortable, sometimes it may even be awful, but there is always a lesson to be learned. We're here for such a short amount of time, we should spend it getting to know lots of people, seeing the world, and making connections wherever we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Live in a big house with four amazing roommates. We have three couches, lots of fold out mattress and extra bedding. There is a garden in the back and a full workshop in the garage. We love to cook and eat and would love to share a meal with you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed for several weeks in Europe and a bit in
Brazil. Also gone to meetups and done day trips with fellow surfers. While life is always busy we try to host as often as we can.

Interests

There are many things out there that I love, probably many more that I have yet to discover. Really enjoy camping, cooking, reading, watching movies, hanging out with my friends, and crafting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Current favorite series is The Song of Ice and Fire. Classic rock and psytrance are what my ears hear the most of. Can appreciate just about any movie and have over a TB of them. Favorites include The Fifth Element and Stargate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my fondest memories happened in the Nevada desert during the 4th of July. I was laying on the playa with nothing around for miles which might obstruct my view. Moments before the sky was filled with stars and you could clearly see the milky way. Slowly, the sun began to creep its way into the sky. If I turned my head to the left I could see it begin to make a rainbow across the sky and above the mountains on the horizon. Literally a huge rainbow. If I turned my head to the right it was still pitch black night and the stars were out. Soon you could see the curvature of the earth as the light wrapped itself around me and the darkness became an ever increasingly small circle. Truly incredible. The desert is magical.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to cook you a meal, share conversations about everything from music to the universe, or teach you to hula hoop!
