About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rocking your face off!

ABOUT ME

I am originally from the midwest, born in WI, where I began drumming in the 6th grade and went to Shell Lake Jazz Camp for 4 years. At Shell Lake, I learned a lot about big band drumming with great instructors such as Ron Keezer and Larry Lelli (now an in-demand Broadway drummer). As I went to college I honed my rudimental and drumset chops, drumming for Chopstix Percussion (now Chops, Inc.), the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, the University of Wisconsin Marching Band (Rose Bowl 1999!), and the Wisconsin Singers show choir. In 1999, I moved to Boston to attend Berklee. While at Berklee, I studied with Dave DiCenso, Steve Wilkes, Kenwood Dennard, Rod Morgenstein, Bob Tamagni, Jackie Santos, and Victor Mendoza.

I ended up staying in Boston for 10 years and just left Blue Man Group after four great years with them, on my own terms. Los Angeles has always called to me, and now...here I am! I am now looking to do studio and tour work, as well as teach. My hobbies include learning German, proclaiming that the best drum sounds on album occurred between 1980-1982 (Zenyatta, Moving Pictures, Drama, etc.), and acting like an idiot to get people to smile. I have professional gear (3 kits and about 25+ snare drums) and have been described as a hard hitter with exceptional tone, time, and learning curve, often compared to Josh Freese. If you need a drummer, or just want to chat, feel free to contact me!

Within a month of being here, I have quickly joined on with 3 acts from LA: Lemonwilde, Cage 9, & Tim Friedlander

PHILOSOPHY

Drum your problems away.
