ABOUT ME

I'm 31 and currently discovering new things about myself. Right now I identify as a writer, and a wannabe musician. I am ever curious about human nature and what other people are doing and why. I'm generally quiet until I feel passionate enough about something to talk about it. I like both solitude and socializing. I hope to accomplish both making myself happy with my life and improving the condition of other people's lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am surfing on my friends' couch and I hope to host people on my couch once I return to a place with a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed on my parents' couch for a year or two. Does that count? That was quite the experience. I surfed in San Francisco and discovered not only more about the city but more than I ever knew about the friends that I stayed with. I've also done some surfing in L.A. lol. Next up I'm hoping to go to Honolulu. I've been once but only experienced the tourist lifestyle; and would love to see it from the residents' point of view. And eventually I'd like to make my way around this whole big world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Walking Backwards, Fables, E.A.Poe, F.Scott Fitzgerald. Pretty much all kinds of music except for most country; some of my fave. bands are Nirvana, The Doors, Sublime, Pearl Jam, and Tool. I also like Gillian Welch, Johnny Cash,and Janis Joplin among many others. Some fave movies are The Godfather, Pan's Labyrinth, A Christmas Story, Goodfellas, V for Vendetta, Superbad, A Waking life, Walk the Line etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove cross country from New York to Ca. It was incredible. My ex-girlfriend and I explored many national parks, while learning new things about each other and ourselves. It is something I had always wanted to do and I am so happy that I accomplished it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel there is so much to be learned from other people it is often overwhelming. One thing I've been told I'm good at is listening, and being compassionate, and empathetic. I hope to teach everyone that doesn't already know, the importance of these skills. I would love to learn about other countries, as well as how people live their everyday life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to share the childlike wonder I feel when exploring new places, along with my ability to see the amazing details in nature. And of course I'm open to conversation, and exploration together.
