ABOUT ME

Texan by way of Mexico, educated on the streets of Chi-town. :P Currently in Dominica "working" in community development.

PHILOSOPHY

Cities/places are sometimes living, breathing entities. They have hearts, souls, blood, mouths, bellies, and various other parts. If El Paso is my mother, Chicago a teacher/lover, then Dominica is a beautiful, albiet backward wife in a two-year arranged marriage. Honeymoon's over. But the love is there.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If there's one thing about Peace Corps Volunteers, is that they're generally great hosts. Some other volunteers turned me on to this and I'm looking forward to opening up my home so you can check out the island and my village.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've only hosted and both experiences were fun, rewarding, and otherwise positive. i look forward to surfing myself one day.

兴趣

Here, I like reading, hiking, swimming in rivers and the Caribbean sea (the Atlantic is a bully), open-water diving, and getting drunk with other volunteers. I also enjoy listening to my iPod, though my collection is getting stale. Oh, and dancing. Dancing is fun.

The cirque de soleil show KA at the MGM grand in las vegas was a pretty religous experience for me.

I can tell you about my experience here so far. I have a distaste for generalizations, expecially when it come to cultures and countries. so that means basically that you'd get alot of narrative from me in place of opinions and conclusions. I'll paint you a picture through story and song! As many stories as you're willing to listen to. And in the morning, we're makin' waffles!

I've also become a dirty little bookworm here. So I love hearing about books you love.
