About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get out of the ordinary.
ABOUT ME
I'm cynical and pessimistically optimistic. I love nature and learning about biology. I'm more of a home body but love a good adventure. I'm an active member in the Sierra Club and try to volunteer in my neighborhood regularly.
I love a good latte and just relaxing in the coffeeshops around town (May Day is my fave). I'm also a dedicated beer snob.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted around 30 times (I think. I've lost count) and surfed four times in the fabulous city of DC, lovely Grand Junction, CO, the cultural-center of LA, and the very hospitable Minneapolis (before I moved here). They were all wonderful experiences. It's so great giving what I could to a fellow traveler. I understand how far kindness goes when you're traveling in a foreign land. I was privileged to provide that kindness.
Interests
I love science, geeky board games, books and movies. I go to yoga as often as I can although I should go a lot more. I love riding my bike although I'm not in superb shape. My week is usually filled with friends crafting, drinking beer and playing games or just hanging out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most memorable experiences have been appreciating the unscheduled activities. I love just sitting in a foreign coffee shop playing Scrabble with my sister. Or rowing across the frigid Lake Yellowstone on an intensely warm day in July. Or uncontrollably cracking up at a train station in Germany during the wee hours of the night.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching and learning about how the world works. Specifically nature. My specialty is botany.
I love learning about philosophy and history.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love showing off my city which might include a bike ride to breweries, a personal auto site seeing tour, or exploring the museums. I know a fair amount of history for Minneapolis and St. Paul and would love an excuse to learn more.
