About Me
Hello, World! I am Gayeon from Korea.
I was born and raised in a small and quiet town, Jangheung in Korea with my 3 little sisters. I graduated from my high school in Feb, 2020. And now, I am living in Paris for my study. I am a university student in Sorbonne. I wanna fill my life with brilliant and irreplaceable memories, traveling all over the world. I believe the world is filled with wonderful things and beautiful people. If we take just one step ahead of the world, we can see a whole new world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
No matter how fancy the city is, if there are no people who make me miss even after going back to home, maybe it will be same as I'm home alone ;) Kind and nice people who I met during trips, always they completed the impression of the city on the edge of my journey. So I believe the goodness of people.
I'm very talkative and cheerful, I think. I always enjoy meeting new people and new cultures. I want to experience the lifestyle of people in your city : the places you love, soul food, friends or anything😊 I am interested in everything! I hope we could be genuine friends beyond where are we from and what cultural backgrounds do we have. With good conversations, great food, enough time and some respect for each other, I trust anyone could be close :)
Interests
• I am really into art and art history. So art museums are definitely my favorite places. When I go abroad to travel, I always visit almost every art museums in the city. That's why I love Paris. If I can see Van Gogh's paintings after my lunch everyday, that's definitely worthy of itself to choose to live in Paris.
• One of my hobbies is making maps. I mean, drawing some lines on the maps and imagining about the places I wanna go. To imagine about the earth, ocean and sky I've never crossed always makes my heart pounding and lights the undying fire on my mind, just visualizing.
When I was a middle school student, I robbed all the map supplements which is in the the World geography textbooks of my classmates😂 Even they didn't know the fact they exist, but in those days, they were surely a big part of me. With those maps, I was drawing my route of travel for future more than hundreds times, and by the end of my graduation of my high school, I almost finished it. (It takes almost 6 years to make the "perfect" world tour map). It definitely will be a big journey in my entire life to circle a globe for more than 2 years ;)
*Inspirations for the journey*
1. A movie, "The Motorcycle Diaries" / Books of Che Guevara (A revolutionist of Cuba) 👉 It is the certain motivation I am falling in love with Latin American ;)

Albert Camus and Saint Exupery, they are my favorite French writers. And an American writer, Jack Kerouac's "On the road", It changed my life like it changed everyone else’s. The mythic and unbelievable story about travel across America in 50's influenced the way I think and made me of today.
// Mon livre préféré est "Terre des hommes" de Saint Exupery. J'aime tous les mots et ses phrases. Alors, je veux visiter les régions qui sont mentionnées dans le livre un jour : La Provence, Toulouse et les montagnes d'Espagne.
● Films : Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, The Shape of Water, La Vie d'Adèle, I am Love, Inglourious Basterds, Call Me by Your Name, Rome, Mommy, Amélie Poulain, Mad Max : Fury Road, Billy Elliot, Thirst, Punch Drunk Love, Life of Pie, Chunking Express, Inception, Forrest Gump, Before Sunrise, Whiplash, Pulp Fiction, Across The Universe, The hottest state, Total Eclipse, Mauvais Sang, Black Swan, Brooklyn, Parasite, Own Private Idaho...
I love foreign movies! I like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Bong Jun-hoo, Alfonso Cuaron, Christopher Nolan, Park Chan-wook, Lee ang, Wong Karwai, Iwai Shunji, and Paul Thomas Anderson. I watch all kinds of movies except horror(It's too scary for me). And I love old and classic ones like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Gone with the Wind". And musical movies always make me excited! Especially, I love "Les misérable(2012)".
I visited London(2022) and watched the original musical, les miserable. It was phenomenal🥹
● Sports : I like sports, but I prefer just watching. Because I am not a good player. I enjoy watching sports games like football and basketball. And I am a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur. I am rooting for the Korean player in Tottenham, Sonny and all his brilliant companies. During the last World Cup season, I was enjoying and rooting for the national football team of France(Les Bleus)!!😊💕

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am a hardcore cinéphile🙀 When I go to the movie theater, I usually watch 3 or 4 movies in a day! Last December(2021), I achieved the record of 1000 movies(Now 1400 ratings). It means I spent time more than 2000 hours in my life for watching movies :) And I have an experience that I stayed up all night in the movie theater alone. The night, I watched more than 5 movies until sunrise, including "Call Me by Your Name" of Luca Guadagnino and "Ready Player One" of Steven Spielberg. The movies were great and it was definitely epic experience, but the next day, I totally knocked down in a bus going home...😂
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning and speaking languages. I can speak Korean and English fluently. And I’ve learned French as my major when i was in high school and in university in Seoul(and now im living in France🇫🇷) Someday I want to learn some Spanish ;) If you want, I can teach you Korean and English !
I am attracted to people who fall in love with something easily. I mean... People who have enthusiasm and great passion about something fabulous! If you are into something nowadays, tell me what is it. I am ready to hear. We could share the things we love together.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Maybe we can spend time together and discover the city during my trip! If you have time, we can grab some great meals and go to cool places like theaters, museums and jazz bars. And if you want to try, I can cook some Korean foods for you!
