About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To save the world from waste and stupidity.

ABOUT ME

I'm an escapee from the suburbs of Maryland now living New York city and loving it here. But I really do need to be escaping to the country in not too long.

PHILOSOPHY

Live as much as you possibly can until you die. And I don't mean that in a live fast and die young sort of way. I don't like to pass up opportunities, and I do what I can to create them.

I can't stand waste, be it time, trash, food, or my own body.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can and I enjoy being hosted when I go on trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In high school and the year following, I spent a lot of time on the road rock climbing. I've stayed in climbers homes in Maryland; New Jersey; New York; Boston, Mass.; Dallas and El Paso, Texas; Boulder and Fort Collins, Colorado; Portland, Oregon; and Salt Lake City, Utah (and that's just what I can recall off hand) along with staying in numerous hotels and camping on many a spare patch of ground in the US and Canada. I hope to return to the road for a period before I settle down somewhere (if I ever even feel comfortable settling down).

Interests

Here's the list in no particular order: rock climbing; bicycle riding; traveling; reading books; watching movies; watching tv; programming; running.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by Vonnegut, Palahnuik, Huxley, Emerson, Thoreau, Stephenson and many many more. Lots of Sci fi, and philosophy, as well as books about places I've been or want to go, especially New York City.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most specific thing I can think of is my home away from home, Hueco Tanks, outside of El Paso, Texas. The rock and the desert there are gorgeous, and every day shed light on new wonder.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can completely dismantle my bike (and subsequently put it back together). I camp and rock climb and like theorizing about ways to make electricity and solve other Big problems. I can also figure out just about any computer related problem you can imagine.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, China, France, Mexico, Portugal

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
