About Me

Climbing, alpine climbing, skiing.

I am a nature person, I guess. I need to be outdoors often to feel well and love hiking, swimming, sailing and activities that can be challenging as well as fun. I run a backcountry ski guiding company in the Swedish mountains and work with glacier/expedition guiding in Alaska. Otherwise I'm studying Aerospace Engineering.

Why not? All too many people that I know find a way to question all ideas and decisions and find reasons against. I think, why not? Why not try everything, is there really a good reason to be afraid to do something? Usually the answer is no.

I always flip to the sports page first because it lists people’s accomplishments, whereas the front page just lists our failures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing during my year in the military while it was not possible to host... unless you want to partake in training excercises in the snow, and now I am off travelling! CS has been great to me and I would like to host as well.

Couchsurfed for the first time in Athens and Crete, had a great time, especially with other brand new couchsurfers who were very excited about the whole thing! (2009)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived out of a nylon tent for a whole week where the temperature was never higher than -30°C in the Swedish/Norwegian mountains

Teach, Learn, Share

what can I teach others? I am an avid traveller, I don't know how useful my tips will be though, as I travel almost too light. After carrying giant backpacks all the time, I now have a strong predisposition against big bags especially suitcases that are crippling to any traveller.

i would like to think that I know a lot about nature, wilderness, hiking and such. For those of you planning hiking trips, consult me about the Swedish wilderness, it is worth seeing! Not to mention the midnight sun and the northern lights!
