About Me

Experience the Journey.

Hello CS community! Let's see... where to begin...
I am Brie.
I enjoy being able to say, "I've been there, I've done that".
I know some magnificent people.
I'm very creative and enjoy learning new things.
I am currently working and playing in Los Angeles, California where I am often in need of R&R and I am hoping to travel more!

I believe you should make a conscious effort to live fully, without regret or hostility towards others. Try anything once, Smile, and take a picture while you're at it!
WHY NOT?!?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My goal is to connect with people as I ramble on, and by making those connections and sharing experiences with like-minded individuals, learn more about the world and myself in it.
I love the idea of sharing more than language and travel stories with each other, by actually sharing shelter, exploration, cultural experiences, with not only hosts but other surfers. Providing a home for a traveler, you build friendships and a bond that means so much to someone so far from home.
I am a neat person, and I have respect for my host and their home! I appreciate others hospitality and I hope to cultivate good friendships with my hosts. I have had such amazing experiences through Couchsurfing and am so fortunate to have maintained so many wonderful friendships!

Couchsurfing has provided me with some of the most unique and unforgettable experiences! I have surfed my fair amount of couches throughout the US and Europe on various trips to many places. I have stayed with many friends, family, and various hosts who were strangers and became friends. They all have provided wonderful and unexpected experiences that I could not have had in a hotel or hostel. I can now truly say I understand the mindset at the core of Couchsurfing and embrace it, and those who follow it, with my whole heart.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music and movies! My favorite band is the Beatles and my favorite movie is Romeo and Juliet. But I have very eclectic tastes and am always open to new things. I keep a variety of media and my tastes are always changing. Once I get my hands on a good book, it's hard for me to put it down.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have prayed at over 10 different Buddhas in Thailand and rode an elephant in a rose garden.
I traded goods with Amazonian children and fished for piranha in Peru.
I toured all over the USA with a children's theatre and lived in a different city every week, I got to see so many amazing places, and meet such amazing people!
My last day in Rome I watched the sun set over the Vatican and the sun rise over the Colosseum - best way to spend my last 13 hours!
I camped by myself with 30 people I'd never met at Coachella in the Californian desert and couldn't have imagined a better time.
When I was 11, I drew peace signs, with chalk carried from Alabama, on the sidewalks of Haight & Ashbury with a chair-bound war vet.
I drove across the country from AL to LA and stayed 3 of 4 stops at homes of couch-surfers I had met somewhere else in my travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach a variety of speech, language, and music classes and techniques, as well as tips on traveling economically. I also love to document in photography, writing, and collectibles. My travels have made me well versed and I love to share. I want to experience the true culture of a city, the way the locals are meant to emanate it. I want to learn anything and everything, no matter the subject matter!
Sometimes I share stories to my blog - briecube.blogspot.com

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a genuine interest and curiosity about your city and culture. I would love to explore with you. I have even been known to teach my hosts a thing or two about their own city! I also house and pet sit!
