About Me
My current mission is to pursue joy & meaning, and to experience life as fully as possible
I'm a rather stubborn and determined individual who likes to take life as it comes and enjoys a spontaneous adventure. I frequently make decisions based on their environmental impact, and don't mind taking the long way of doing things if it means it a) is more planet-friendly, or b) is costs less.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Started officially couchsurfing with CS in 2012 while on exchange in scotland. surfed with friends of friends though out europe. before that, I'd couchsurf unofficially with friends and friends-of-friends.
I appreciate the ways that couchsurfing can facilitate meaningful hospitality and cultural engagement.
Interests
I'm minorly obsessed with biking, a semi-raging environmentalist, a regular hypocrite, a confident spontaneous dancer, a frugal acquisitions expert, and a handy-woman.
I love things that are woolen, knitted, wooden, rustic, vintage, thrifted or have a history.
I love compost.
I hate styrofoam.
I've made a rule for myself that i will only ever buy clothing if it is previously owned, or made by myself.
I also enjoy cooking and baking - often elaborate things. But most of all, I enjoy eating WITH people.
I'm a big fan of painting and sketching - and lately I'm pretty into doing ballpoint sketches. These occasionally happen on napkins in cafes, but usually in my journal.
Being outside is very important to me. Especially when the sun is out. I'm pretty bad at sitting for long periods of time.
Hiking is the best.
I love conversation (both meaningful and ridiculous) and living in community.

If you have any musical instruments kicking around, I could possibly be coerced into playing and singing a tune or two - but I'll warn you that I can be pretty shy around performing, so I hope you'll sing along.
