About Me

Hi,

I'm Balint and I'll be travelling and hosting toether with my girl friend, Eva
We are both artist working and living in Hungary, mostly in Budapest. (On some of my photos you can see both of us.)
We are new on CS, though we are both veteran travellers.
If we are in town (Budapest) we have a nice couch to offer. Though quite often we are out of town, working somewhere on the countryside, so please don't take it personally if we respond to you with some delay.
If we are travelling we are fine with a spot on your floor.

We are looking forward to meet different people, to share experiences!

Cheers,

Balint

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm searching for authentic experiences that I believe can only come from getting to know local people. I'm just as interested in sights, nature and architecture as in human encounters. I love to discover both the collective memories and identity of a city, a region, a land and both the personal memories and identity of the local people, and the way these intertwine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: very diverse, love to party to some electronic music (mostly psytrance or techno) but also to enjoy a nice classical music concert, or unplugged folk music in a local bar.
Moveis: as I filmmaker I love more marginal types of movies like micro-budget fiction, expereimtal, avant-garde films, personal documentaries, docu-fiction, etc, but I also try to keep up with the current big hit movies. I love sc-fi and thriller in general. David Lynch's Mulholland Drive made me think of it the first time to become a filmmaker.
Books: Umberto Eco - The Name of the Rose, Kurt Vonnegut- Slaughterhouse -Five, Laszló Krasznahorkai - Satantango, C. G. Jung - Memories, Dreams, Reflections, W. G. Sebald - The Emigrants, Mark Z. Danielewski - House of Leaves, Jorge Luis Borges - The Garden of the Forking Paths, Italos Calvino - If a Winter's Night a Traveller...
