About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore the intricacies of the world while drinking the best milkshakes I can find.
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty outgoing if I am in a comfortable situation and I enjoy talking to strangers (as long as they are not creepy). I am currently teaching math at a public high school in Philadelphia and trying to help my students understand that math is an amazing thing in the world.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to engage myself in the world in more than just a superficial way. Also, in the words of the famous Dr. Seuss, "Be who you are and say what you mean for the people who mind don't matter and the people who matter don't mind."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to meet as many new people as I can when I travel around the world. When I am in one place, I want them to come to me so I can show them my beautiful city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I have met a group of Australians in Vientiane, Laos who opened their hearts and minds to me - it was a great five days! Then, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I went on an organized pub crawl that was amazingly fun! I truly couchsurfed for the first time in Malaysia and then again in Wellington, New Zealand.
Interests
I like chatting, reading, learning, doing something good for the community, and my vices are watching movies on my computer, Gchat, Facebook, and eating really good food (usually dessert).

Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty much anything well-written. Also, most things Star Trek or Star Wars related. I have gotten really into non-fiction recently, specifically historical texts about geography, poverty, schools, and urban areas.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I almost got run over by an elephant in South Africa - my dad has videotape to prove it. Maybe that's the reason we almost got run over....
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share my knowledge of Philadelphia and its history. I was an Urban Studies major living there so I know some things most residents don't. I was also a tour guide over one summer for Urban Adventures. Knowledge = awesome!
