About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Escape my comfort zone

ABOUT ME

I don't fit cleanly into any single stereotype but science-nerd and hippy are two that suit me well. And I'm at least 60% introvert.

PHILOSOPHY

living every day to the fullest is important but I accept that there is a time for work and a time for play. I have dreams that are bigger than what can be accomplished in a single day and I'm willing to spend days on planning and hard work in order to meet my goals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Quiet movie nights are awesome when I don't feel like getting rambunctious. The Incredibles, The Princess Bride, and Memento are a few of my favorites

I love Pandora, I've discovered so much good music through it. I listen to Beats Antique and Trip Hop Pandora stations when I'm reading and The Killers and The Gorillaz Stations when I'm just chilling. Give me a holler if you have any good station suggestions

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Hunger Games, and Harry potter are 3 of my favorites. I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately. I realized that even though I don't have time to take all the psychology classes I'd like, I can still learn quite a bit for only a dollar fifty in late charges at the public library (did you catch that movie reference?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Me and the other 60 bicycle riders had mounted our bikes and were ready to leave Denver, Colorado by 5:00 am. I was the leader of a group of 5 other riders and we started out at a blazing speed covering about 80 miles before noon. After lunch the temperature soared to over 100 degrees and a blistering headwind came out of nowhere. All 5 of my group members succumbed to heat exhaustion and were picked up by the support van leaving me all alone. At the next break we regrouped to form a double file super group and my friend who was pulling with me pushed the pace to the point where I almost couldn't continue. I was feverish and nauseous but everyone else seemed equally battered so I didn't have the heart to ask anyone else to pull. 20 miles at a time, everyone from the super-group (including a few of my original group members who had recovered) made it to St. Fransis, Kansas, the end of that days journey.
