About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking for experiences, people, things ....oh yeah and stuff...
ABOUT ME
It's all about travelling, bike racing, beer tasting/drinking, cooking and winery, cultures, travelling even more, whatever...
Then there was the couple of years in the Pacific, a year between Melbourne and the Chinese border by 4x4, and now, Australia since 2012.
PHILOSOPHY
Trust your guts and don't look down.
Dum spiro, spero.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had guests in Brussels, in Melbourne, in Noumea, in Perth, and I've been a guest myself more than once in half a dozen countries.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Again, mostly as a host but as a guest as well. Most experiences were a success, all experiences were ... well, an experience.
I've CSed on a yacht in New Caledonia, on a houseboat near Melbourne, and on various couches in Australia, Timor Leste, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. I've done CouchSurfing with people who didn't know they were CouchSurfing, but I guess it's just called hospitality then.
Interests
I just like people, in general. I'm also a fan of deserts, oceans, empty spaces.
Exchange the ideas, the cultures, etc that's what's it's all about, right ? My belief is language and food are the best way to experience culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies : any, besides chick-flicks, hard to say which movie I loved the most. I'm a fan of Bond and Star Wars, but who isn't ?
Books : things like the Pillars of the Earth or Conn Iggulden's sagas, so history-fiction.
Music : my ipod has jazz, classical, rock, metal, you name it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To class under the amazing things :
4WDing and camping in a volcano crater, and watching the sun rise the next day, in Jawa, Indonesia (2012)
Witnessed an underwater ballet with rays on the reef in New Caledonia (2010).
Enjoyed the natural springs of Coward Springs after a week four wheel driving crossing the Simpson Desert (2009).
Watched the sun rise on the desert, from a hot-air balloon above Alice Springs (1996).
Getting soaked at the foot of the Niagara Falls (1992).
To class under the stupid things :
Fired a gun in a police academy while being totally drunk after my 18th birthday the night before (1995)
Taking place in a go-kart race a few days after dislocating my shoulder in a motorcycle accident, finishing not last (4th) and breaking two other ribs during the race. Gotta love those painkillers ! (2007)
To class under...amazing
I think by far the most amazing experience was the whole "driving from Melbourne to Northern Laos" thing, when most nights were spent at local people's home, spontaneously invited, not speaking each other's language yet spending the most meaningful conversations. How's that for couchsurfing !
Teach, Learn, Share
That's exactly the point. Humbly teaching, eagerly learning, and generously sharing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer an expat view of Australia, or rather "my" view of Australia, of Perth, or Western Australia. I can show you where I like to go, and maybe you'll like it too. And I have a few tips that might help you. Take it or leave it.
What I won't offer, is a free bed for nothing in return. I'm only asking you share your experiences, your views, your opinions. Doesn't matter how old/young you are, I'm sure I've got as much to learn from you, as you might from me.
Countries I’ve Visited
Cambodia, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
