ABOUT ME

What would my best friends say about me? They would likely start off with the usual answers that pop into a person's head when caught off-guard with this kind of question: She's a really good friend, honest and reliable, fun to be around, always makes me laugh and gives great advice. Then they might start thinking of some descriptive words that are a little less cliche, but still not entirely unique, such as well-spoken and intelligent, spirited, down-to-earth and open-minded. Then, after they had had a few minutes to think about it, and to clear all the initial bull-shit answers out of the way, they would state that, plain and simple, I genuinely care about everyone around me, I try to watch out for other people and am always willing to help someone out. And that's what makes me their best friend.

PHILOSOPHY

Be open to the possibility that what you think you know may be subject to change. Never close your mind to new or different perspectives; they might just teach you a lesson you thought you had already learned.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by offering my couch to other surfers while I have a stable place to live and hope that couches will be offered to me when I need places to stay during my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few people and plan on doing some surfing around the states next month. All positive experiences with CouchSurfing so far and looking forward to many, many more!

Interests

My favorite thing to do is learn, in any way that I can. I constantly need to engage my mind, which is something I have previously done by going to school, but am now seeking a new kind of creative and cognitive outlet that allows for a little less stress and a lot more fun. I'm discovering that there is a lot more out there than working and going to school in Oregon (where I've lived my entire life!)and feel a sudden urge to travel, meet new people, hike, explore foreign landscapes, write, dance, and see what else the world has to offer at this amazing, beautiful, yet tragically temporary time in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Darling Reunion, Oregon Country Fair 2009. Dancing half naked around the drum circle with my best friend in the world, feeling high off nothing but the sheer energy of the drums, the heat of the fire and the positive vibes of all the amazing people that surrounded us. This moment left me awestruck because I felt so comfortable and connected with so many perfect strangers, just sharing in the experience of celebrating the moment, and trying to make it last forever.
