I'm Bobbie, I'm 18 years old and I've grown up in the Netherlands. When I was younger, I traveled with my parents quite a bit and now I've made some trips with friends as well because I love traveling and exploring the world. I'm currently taking a gap year and am planning on spending the last half of that year on traveling with my best friend through Oceania, not the least because of its amazing and diverse nature and the fact that the culture seems to be so much alike on certain subjects, whilst so different when it comes to other topics. Other than traveling, I'm also very interested in language & culture, as well as mental and physical health, and I want to pursue a career in those fields as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because my friend and I will be traveling through Oceania from April to July. Rather than spending all our time on the tourist-y locations in hostels, we would like to stay at local people's homes as well, both because it's more "gezellig" (;) =fun) than staying in a hotel, and because it enables us to learn more about the culture and the day-to-day life, something we feel is especially important in a relatively under represented part of the world like Oceania.

I love psychology and neuro biology, as well as (psycho)language and I could talk about that for hours to anyone who is interested. 😉 I'm also interested in veganism and health and I love learning about that as well! Furthermore, I love to learn about different cultures and I'm always open to sharing the weird, funny, good, and bad things about the Dutch culture.
