About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel the world, start a tech business, and study experimental psychology
ABOUT ME
I am a photographer and videographer. I have spent the last eight months living in Thailand and travelling around south east asia. I'm a big computer nerd, but I'm also active and enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy music (especially live shows), and I play the piano/keyboard, the cello (kind of), digital turntables, and the laptop. I can fix pretty much any computer problem. I snowboard whenever possible. I've recently picked up rock climbing. I'm an adventurous eater and a bit of a beer snob; food and drink drive most of my travel decisions.
PHILOSOPHY
I always prefer to discuss philosophy in person (and I can go all night ;) ), but I'll say that I am always upbeat and never bored.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've now surfed in Europe and in the southern United States. Each and every couch surfing experience I've had has been great. I've also hosted surfers at my house in Reno, and more recently in Oakland.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed my first couch in Prague. It was an amazing experience. Jiri was such a kind host, and he took time out of his busy schedule to show me his favorite spots around town. I would love to visit him again sometime.
I've also surfed in Louisiana and Texas when traveling with a friend. In Austin, TX we surfed on Dave's 3 story converted vege-oil bus! It was a great time.
I've hosted a few surfers at my house in Reno, but Reno tends not to get a lot of travelers. Now that I've moved to Oakland, I hope to host a lot more surfers.
Interests
Primarily meeting new and interesting people and enjoying food and drink. Other things would be computers and technology, outdoorsy stuff (hiking, camping, swimming, snowboarding, rock climbing, etc.), movies, music, and TV shows.

Music, Movies, and Books
I go through phases in my musical taste, I enjoy IDM, glitch, mashup and some poppy/dance stuff. Some of my favorite artists are Aphex Twin, The Flashbulb, Hot Chip, Chromeo, edIT, and Girl Talk. I'm also a digital DJ, and I'm trying to branch out into more traditional methods as well, namely vinyl. I also like some indie folk bands like vampire weekend, blind pilot, hook and anchor, Nick Jaina, and Paper Bird.
I like lots of movies, but I often find the most pleasure in campy, terrible films such as Zardoz. I also like a lot of indie and small films like Brick and Bubba Ho-Tep.
I like a lot of high-production value TV shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, and Carnivale. I also like many offbeat British shows like Fawlty Towers, Allo Allo, and Monkey Dust.
I tend to read a lot of spy and thriller novels by authors like John LeCarre. 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouac is also one of my favorite books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I partied like a rock star with Girl Talk after his show in Reno, NV, USA. Protip: rock stars eat hamburgers in the jacuzzi. It's just what they do.
Teach, Learn, Share
Don't decline a host's invitation just because they are not affiliated with CS. Some of the best couchsurfing experiences I've had were completely unrelated to this website.
