About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To accept the wasp as a valued member of the planet.
ABOUT ME
CS website has me living all over Brittany but I really do live in Eance.
Nearly 50, and finally got a bit of time and money to do the things I want to do, when I want to do them. Love travelling, looking to visit every country in the world before I shuffle off this mortal coil, not doing too bad so far but trying to expand my list by at least 3 or 4 new countries every year.
An Englishman by birth, I've travelled extensively both with work and for pleasure, and now find myself settled in Bretagne in France. There are certainly plans afoot to go and live in Rome for a while as its the most amazing place I've ever been, but for now I surf out of Eance.
PHILOSOPHY
Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have surfed and happy to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a CS friend once, am looking to start surfing around France initially to see the cities I havent yet seen in this wonderful country.
Participated in a couple of CS meetings in Angers, and even remembered to pay for my beer on the second one!!
Just back from the CS weekend in Flammanville, and I now need a new liver!!
Hosted a lovely Lithuanian couple.
Interests
Beer! Oh and sport too, almost all sport although I dont really do/watch sports to do with horses.
Martin Luther King stylee I have a dream to CouchSurf the whole of the Tour de France, think that would be a pretty cool way to meet a whole bunch of people and to follow my favourite sporting event in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Dont really watch films or listen to much music but books ..... I love 'em. Anything non-fiction comes under my remit to be read. Fave book ever? There are 2. Papillon by Henri Charriere, not just for the story but also for the immediate impact it had on the entire French penal system, and Endurance by Caroline Alexander. What man can endure is written down in a way that transports the reader to the frozen wastes of the South Pole.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was in the French parliament for the debate about the genocide against the Armeniens. Fascinating experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach...er...er....er ah yes, I can teach English should you wish?
Would love to learn to play the guitar. I have one, and some books, and lots of enthusiasm, but no idea. I also want to learn to juggle. Someone tried to teach me years ago in Chile, but I was rubbish.
If someone comes to the house I share pretty much everything I have with them, as if they come to my house they are my friends.
