About Me

Name’s Jacob. I’m from Klang, Malaysia. I love meeting new people, listening to their stories, learn about them, their culture and language. Travelling is extremely invigorating to the soul.

I’m a student doing A level. After this I’m thinking of pursuing linguistics. I want to learn all the languages in the world to be a superpolyglot.

We should meet if we’re in the same city!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's so many people here and it's very diverse. Everyone gets to learn different perspectives. Someday, I would like to return the favour by hosting so I give back to the universe what I’ve received. I want to learn as much as I can from other fellow travellers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually listen to audiobooks or podcasts. But I listen to all kinds of genre.

Dislikes mainstream blockbuster movies. I love arthouse movies. I like movies that are abstract and lobotomises your brain. For example, Mr Nobody, Oldboy, Snowpiercer, The Lobster and Fight Club.

Books are bae. I read voraciously. Occasionally reads Zizek or Sufi poetry. Mostly, non-fiction books. If you haven’t heard of 40 Rules of Love by Elif Shafak, you must read it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, let me think. Don’t know if it’s amazing but it’s amazing I’ve managed to live up to this point. Okay, okay, maybe going to Iran? With all the news you’ve heard, it’s the total opposite in reality. My favourite country of all time.
