ABOUT ME

I like to travel, read and work. I have great friends and an amazing family. My blessings seem endless. I make last minute decisions. You can count on me.

This trip I don't have any set plan. I'm just doing my best to enjoy each day and learn about the people that live in the places I go.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a big believer in the idea of leaving people and places better off than how I found them. Each individual I meet is an opportunity for me to take something away and grow from it.

Perhaps a more practical philosophy these days is my saying, "I refused to be the victim of someone else's bad habits or bad intentions."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have donated to CouchSurfing.com but I am still rather new to this project. I was told by someone I met along the way about CouchSurfing.com and he convinced me to give it a try. I'm really excited to meet people and at some point be a host for others in the CouchSurfing.com community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Recently I met some interesting people in Lebanon. They fed me space cake and stole my debit card. I can't get cash out of ATMs now but I think it was still worth it. Fair warning, if we're going out to dinner the restaurant better take Visa, otherwise you're paying!

Interests

I am really interested in travel. I have been to dozens of countries and this year will be the busiest year of travel for me personally to date. I am currently traveling in the Middle East but will be headed to South America and the Asian Pacific in about a month.

One of my favorite ways to spend a day is go on a good hike or workout. If you know of a mountain, trail or swimming hole you want to show someone let me know I'm interested!

In addition to travel I really like movies and music. Some of my favorite movies include: The Big Lebowski, Good Will Hunting, The Usual Suspects and Tropical Thunder. One of my favorite ways to spend an evening is to watch a movie with a couple of good friends.

I like house music and some pop. My favorite house music artists are: Deadmau5, Tiesto, Benny Benassi & Kaskade. I also like Sting and John Mayer. Here is a brief list of the concerts I attended over the last 6 months: Sting (3 times), John Mayer, Goldfrap, Chemical Brothers and Kings of Leon.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of science books. Right now I'm reading the Grand Design by Steven Hawking. Other favorite books of mine are The Jitterbug Perfume, Sophie's World, The Life of Pi and The Source. Almost more enjoyable than the books I'm reading these days is my Kindle from Amazon.com. It holds up to 1000 books (I've only got about 25 right now) and has a battery that seems to never end.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Of all my accomplishments I'm probably most proud of the fact that I created a company. You can actually read about it here http://corp.build.com/our-story/.

It's amazing to think that I built an organization that will probably outlast me and has made it possible for other people to build their own lives off of. Seeing employees meet their spouses, get married and have children all because of a company that I helped to start is a strange and wonderful thing.

I'm great at investing and business. I can help anyone review a business plan, make a personal budget or improve their business strategy.

I also like talking about feelings quite a bit. It may sound corny but being able to clearly define one's feelings and emotions is really the most important part of processing our experiences in a positive way.
