About Me

I'm currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark in a house together with 3 friends. I grew up in this city but have also lived in Berlin, Madrid and Jaén in the south of Spain. I'm a pretty active person, and like to go hiking and spend time in nature, swimming and climbing, and go to concerts or just staying home and playing board games with friends. If I need some relaxing time I like to put puzzles together.

I'm an ethnologist which means I'm trained in exploring cultures, habits, behaviour, etc. I work at a small urban consultancy called arki_lab where we do community engagement in urban design and development. So finding out what people dream about and need in their neighbourhood before it gets designed and built.

Right now I'm spending a lot of my free time working on a project about feminist urbanism which is basically about exploring how to make cities that are more inclusive, safe and offer spaces and activities for everyone - because I think it's important :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Through previous Couchsurfing experiences and also simply making new friends in a new city, I've learned that the people you meet while traveling is what makes a trip truly great. And the local experiences are always what I remember best years later! I also enjoy showing people around Copenhagen, visiting my favourite spots for music, food, etc.

Interests

When I'm traveling to a new city I like to go to concerts at local venues, go swing dancing and eat great local food. I'm interested in urban life, architecture, DIY urbanism and funky neighbourhoods and often prefer to just walk around and explore small shops, cafe, parks, etc.
As for the more outdoorsy stuff I do a lot of hiking and climbing and when the temperatures drop here in Denmark (and hiking becomes a little less fun) I go winter bathing in the harbour.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of different music so favorite music is difficult to say - but at the moment I'm listening a lot to Quadron, Kamasi Washington, Nick Cave, Roosevelt, Muddy Waters, Christine and the Queens and Anderson .Paak.
My favorite movie is maybe Snatch and some favorite authors are Dan Turèll, Haruki Murakami and Paul Auster (although as a kid it was Harry Potter all the way).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably moving to Spain, not really knowing anyone, and figuring out how to build a life, making friends and slowly learning the language. That was both fun and challenging.
