About Me

Moved from Michigan to Central Illinois for a library job in 2013 and then I never left because it's pretty great here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the concept of couchsurfing. I'm happy to lend a spare room now that I have one available.

I have hosted in Flint a number of times, but not yet in Champaign because I always had studios or roommates. Now I have a spare room for when friends and family visit, which I'm happy to lend to other travelers.

Interests

I'm into cooking but also love to eat out. Food is amazing and I like trying new things.
I also autocross a Mini Cooper with a local car club pretty regularly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Disco, Indie, and 80s jams are high on the list. The record I'm addicted to right now is a Live Rostam album I picked up at Third Man Records in Detroit this summer.

Movies: I never watched horror until recently, so I'm trying to some catch up there. I also like weird indie projects or so-bad-they're-good films. I have a large backlog of iconic movies I've been meaning to get to but never seem to.

Books: I wish I read more. The most recent thing I read was Less by Andrew Sean Greer. I was on a 2 month road trip, so it seemed appropriate. In my queue are Mindhunter, Pumpkin, and The Great Believers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently drove a Mini Cooper from Illinois to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and then back to Illinois. Hoping for more epic road trips in the future.
