ABOUT ME

A part from being born in Boston, Massachussetts, growing up in Denmark as the son of a danish father and german/english mother, I am a very easy going, smiling person who loves meeting new people, drinking beers, hang around with friends, listening and dancing to minimal techno or freaking out to my pop and rock'roll records, go to the cinema, watching my favourite football team, going to musicfestival, hiking or just relaxing with a book in the bed.

Other than that I'm a honest, sensitive, independent, outgoing, analysing, reflective unemployed young man, who is looking for a job. Recession please go away! But then I ironically remind myself of that Morrissey line from an old Smiths song:
"I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
and heavens know I'm miserable now"

Update: I now have a job where I ironically is working with unemployment policies and heavens know it's better than beeing unemployed :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hosting, showing people around, partying, cooking, making lovely new friends,having a laugh with 'strangers', discussing politics, singing karoke, going to the beach etc.

I have met and surfed with other couchsurfers abroad, who has shown me some fantastic places among other in Mallorca, Iceland and Istanbul.

::Movies::
"24 hour party people" is problably the film I've watched the most and "Austin Powers" is up there as well. Stanley Kuberick ranks amongs my favourite directors. Recently I have seen "Nymphomaniac" by danish enfant terrible Lars Von Trier, "Blue is the warmest colour", a Werner Herzog documentary Cave of forgotten dreams, and television series "True Detective".

I'm addicted to TV-series "Breaking Bad" and looking forward to last season of "Mad Men" and the next Games of Thrones season. And I can always rewatch an episode of comedy-drama "Party Down".

As most people I have a very eclectic taste in music:
Pet Shop Boys, Saint Etienne, The Knife, Happy Mondays,The National, New Order, Erlend Øye, To Rocococ Rot, Tarwater, Ellen Allien, The Notwist, Depeche Mode, Peaches, Kraftwerk, Morrisey, Rammstein, Ideal, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Mars Volta, Mogwai, Visage, Joy Division, Pixies, Hefner, Björk, Bpitch Control, Kompakt, Interpol, Arcade Fire, Glasvegas, Fever Ray, Mew, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Annie, Camera Obscura, Beatles, The Raveonettes, Animal Collective, Beach House, Hot Chip and all kinds of electronic music!

Some of the last records I bought was records from Caribou, Björk, The Notwist, Arcade Fire, To Rococo Rot, Daft Punk, DJ Koze, Sigur Ros, The Mary Onettes,The Knife,Suede, Bat for Lashes, La Big Vic, Beach House, Pet shop Boys,Bon Iver,Lykke Li, Austra,PJ Harvey, The Radio Dept., Robyn, Best Coast,The National, Hot Chip and some old Kraftwerk vinyls plus some of the all time greatest pop-records, Liza Minellis Results and Kate Bushs Hounds of Love!

Recently I went to concerts with Darkside (march 2014 - one of the greatest shows ever), Savages, Blur, Pet Shop Boys, Metallica, Kraftwerk, First Aid Kit, Beach House, Animal Collective, When saints go machine, Kings of Conveniance, Iron&Wine, Crystal Castles, Austra, St.Etienne, Hot Chip, Sunn O)) just to mention some the last couple of years.

::Books::
among my favourite authors are: John Fante, Jack Kerouac, Dostojevskij. Recently I read John King's Football Factory, Andre Agassi's biography, Helene Hegemanns Axolotl Roadkill, Patti Smiths Just Friends, Daniel Kehlmanns Aufmessung der Welt and Me and Keminski, Sofi Oksanens Purge, Jonathan Franzens Freedom, Charlotte Roches Wetlands. At the moment I'm reading Dostojevskijs The Idiot & Morrisseys Autobiography and Ian Kershaws Hitler.

If you are from Germany you are more than welcome to bring the lastest edition of Der Spiegel or Spreewaldgurken or a Köpi bier.
