Overview
About Me
Hi! After I have finished my bachelor in Ukraine, I was feeling adventurous and decided to move to France and Germany to do my master. After spending one semester in Paris, I am living for one year already in Bielefeld, Germany.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing provides maybe the only way to feel yourself at home in a city you have never been before. As a student living in a foreign country for 1,5 years, I know that it takes some time to get comfortable with the town, and people you meet change significantly the impression the town has on you.
Interests
One of the most fun things for me is having a good conversation and to learn from experiences of other people. I like outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, geocaching. Music festivals is also fun - I enjoyed visiting Sziget 2014 in Budapest as well as several rock festivals in Ukraine.

Music, Movies, and Books
As it often happens, my music tastes have been changing a lot. I am a big fan of rock music, including classical stuff like Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Led Zeppelin, Doors, ACDC, Queen, Jefferson Airplane, Cream and some contemporary artists like Tool, Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Alt-J, Spoon, Foals, Gotye, RJD2, Kasabians.
Among English singers-songwriters I enjoy Johny Cash, Bob Dylan, Regina Spektor, Frank Sinatra, Kings of Convenience.
I also tried some electronic stuff, including Depeche Mode, Amon Tobin, Funky Porcini, John Kennedy, Bonobo, Xploding Plastix, Quantic, Daft Punk.
Sometimes I really like some postrock like Mogwai, Mono, GYBE, This WIll Destroy You, Pelican, Caspian.
My Jazz taste is rather undeveloped, but for the sake of completeness I will mention artists I listen most often: Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Jaga Jazzist, Esbjörn Svensson, Django Reinhardt, Glenn Miller.
Concerning my book tastes, I still like fantasy (Game of Thrones, Witcher, some Stephen King books), science fiction (Orwell, Huxley, Asimov, Bradbury). Lately I have been reading some German writers, including Kafka, Hesse, Boell.
Sometimes I read history books, for example the latest two were about post-1600 history of Germany and antique Rome and Greece.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would like to get to know host better, since our relationship would be among the strongest memories I will have about the city. Therefore it would be great to do something together, for example I can cook some Ukrainian white cheese pancakes, or bake a German Kugelhumpf cake.
