ABOUT ME
I want to travel and play music. Sometimes making movies, or playing in bands. To make a living, I teach music, and I am a music therapist. Primarly, I work with kids who have autism.
I'm mostly a banjo player these days, and i sing a lot, but play a wide variety of instruments. I also like to cook, primarily exploring Indian cuisine.
I appreciate traditional aspects of culture, as well as the avant-garde. I usually get along fairly well, I'd say.
PHILOSOPHY
respect all life, love creation, don't fuss

Music, Movies, and Books
Jimi Hendrix really got me going in the right direction. Grateful Dead lead me to classic folk music, and old blues/country; memphis jug band, leadbelly, woody guthrie, pete seeger. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Mingus, Monk, Sun Ra. I love lots and lots of Jazz. I want to like more modern music, but I have better luck with the classics.
Classic films, 60's/70's foreign films, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Cartoons. I have some high standards for films, but could also watch almost anything and get something out of it.
Lately I've been reading Sir Walter Scott's Waverly novels, one after another in random order. I don't see any end to it. I read a lot of non-fiction scattered music, philosophy, folklore type stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
dreaming, but I usually forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning and teaching music always.
Clawhammer and plectrum banjo, drumset, most percussion, guitar, keyboards, singing. Jazz, Hindustani, African, classic rock, folk, music history, theory, technology, improvisation...
