ABOUT ME

Hi there, to anyone who is reading this welcome to my profile! kia ora.

My name is Ben Boland, I was born and raised mostly here in NZ, I grew up in Auckland until I was 12 and moved down here to Christchurch, both cities I have loved and still do! I've been around quite a bit, Europe and USA mostly with a bit of Australia and most of NZ covered also, and Singapore is the only Asian country I believe I been to, at least that I can remember but I do truly love to travel, for how else can we see life through another's eyes without truly being in there place? their shoes are a little bit more difficult to fill but their place is something we can all experience, just so long as we have the drive!

I love science and languages, though the latter I have only become passionate about until recently, the former I have had a great love and respect for many a year now.

There isn't much else to say about me, I'm pretty easy going, not much annoys me too much, I just hate disrespect, but I'm sure to all those whom use this site they have at least that so I'm sure I don't need to meticulously list every last detail here!

If you're ready and willing to come all the way here to NZ the least I can do is offer you a nice place to stay for a little while, if my parents are fine with it that is ;) the only other thing to add is have fun!

PHILOSOPHY

Live life, learn from mistakes, do what comes naturally and that which doesn't but you feel passionate about do it anyway ;) never demand respect, always earn it! find what makes you truly happy and stick with it. Try as many things as you possibly can, new, old, rusty, sticky? who knows, just keep on trying, go with the old saying: "you won't know, until you try".

Though all of this within reason of course, I'm not saying try jumping off a cliff or out of a plane without a parachute.

Though this may not come into it, as a friend of mine once wrote: "If at first you don't succeed, try again, but remember that skydiving isn't for you". ;)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I'm a student I don't feel I can participate to the fullest right now, and as I'm quite new to this site right now I still don't know how I can, other than offering you guys a place to stay and some guidance to the lives of an average New Zealander.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far sadly but that's why I joined this site, to live and learn this beautiful art that truly shows the lengths of human kindness from everywhere around the globe!

Interests

Physics, German, Mathematics, OTHER LANGUAGES!, Computers, Motorcycles (you probably might know more than I do, if so, teach me!) most things that involve mechanisms, gadgets, gizmos and the like, I just absolutely love to know how and why things work, mostly the why, hence why I'm taking physics as my major. SCUBA DIVING.

Flown a plane, it's like walking on air inside a tin-can. Seen the sites of London, Paris, Florence, Cypruss and Geneva but I wish to see much, much, much more! Motorcycled across NZ, beautiful home country on my favourite kind of vehicle!

I swear more will come to me but these are what pops to mind right now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone English and I know enough physics to teach those whom know very little, and some very, very elementary German, but if you know something please share it, I'm seriously very open.
