About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a recently graduated architect that has been living in Gothenburg for the last 5 years or so. It is the Swedish city I like most, but on a worldwide scale my favourite city is definitely Barcelona, where I lived for 3 years. In general I love big cities - Buenos Aires, New York, Istanbul. I like the diversity, the opportunities and the culture of big cities. See, I'm a person that can enjoy life's little things, but I also love to try things I haven't tried before and meet people different from the people I've met before.

PHILOSOPHY

I just think the best way to live is to be open and curious. As long as you don't have any bad intentions you shouldn't be afraid of stepping on anyone's toes. We all need a laugh!

Interests

I'm passionate about several things:
-Music: I listen to a lot of music (see the music section below)
-Football : I've been playing since I was 7 years old (not on a serious level any more), and I since my time in Barcelona I'm now a devoted FC Barcelona fan. It's incredible how football can give you such feelings of both sadness but also euphoria - be it on the pitch or together with 100 000 other people in the stadium when your team plays. That's what makes it a passion!
-Getting into other cultures. I'm a sucker for getting to know other cultures and also learning how to participate in them. A key is learning the local language, and it's why I learnt Catalan when I was in Barcelona (even though you get by fine with just Spanish) and why I'm now learning Turkish to be able to speak with the family and friends of my turkish girlfriend. Learning a language is so time-consuming, but it's really a must to really get into a foreign culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mostly hip-hop (not the commercial 50 Cent stuff), some soul, some random. A few favorite artists:
Common, Gangstarr, Jay-Z, Curtis Mayfield, Macy Gray, Marvin Gaye, DITC, Sopa de cabra, Los Pericos
Movies: Original and eccentric movies, for example:
Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, La Haine, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Amores Perros, Lost in Translation, Pulp Fiction.
Books: I can't really give favorites in the same way, I like most of the books I read and I like to read books that are either original/eccentric (Borges, Douglas Adams) or that talk about things that can make me understand the world a bit better.
