Manifestation of positive thoughts...
ABOUT ME
I love traveling, it makes me feel alive in such a wonderful way. I grew up on an island, maybe that's why. I am living in Kolsås for the time being with my girl, working in a school, enjoying every single moment of my life, and preparing for future adventures. If you have questions about me, just ask ;)
PHILOSOPHY
Hard to say. But I try to focus on the positive things no matter what happens.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am interested in both surfing and couching, this organization is brilliant because it promotes communication through borders, and that is what our world needs.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted random travelers from France and Holland before i knew about CS. Also, I have met a lot of friendly people abroad that welcomed me into their homes and lives. Most memorable was in Tunisia, where me and my friend left the 4-stars hotel in Monastir, to live in the village of Jemmal with some very kind locals we met on the street. Lately I have met some amazing individuals through this organization!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music I can listen to almost anything, but eventually I would get tired of it. Too many favorite books and movies to list them here, but I would like to discuss them with you :D
Recently I have read "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand and it made a huge impact on my thinking about the society, although it should not be understood as a bible for economic policy. I appreciate Russian literature, Bulgakov and Dostoevsky are among my favorites. I also enjoy reading scientific and historical books. I like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Steven Pinker and Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Travel books I enjoyed:
Knut Hamsun - In Wonderland (experienced and dreamt in Caucasus)
Jack Kerouac - On The Road
Henry Hemming - Misadventure in the Middle East
Kristin Solberg - Through the country of the clean
Claudio Magris - Donau
Che Guevara - The Motorcycle Diaries
Gregory David Roberts - Shantaram
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Growing up on the Lofoten islands was like a fairytale...
Hitchhiking from Kiev to Odessa in 10 hours was pretty amazing considering the odds. That summer I visited some 15 countries with my friend and the impressions will probably last forever. My good friend and co-traveller is writing a book about this trip.
Sharing the experience of the Caucasian countryside, the beaches of Sri Lanka and the "middle ages" in Ghent with my love was magic...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my language-skills with you, and would like to learn some more myself. Sports is another arena suitable for this kind of cooperation :) Also, would love to exchange knowledge on current affairs, history and politics in general. Learning is my passion, I enjoy both learning and teaching...
