About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn and to enjoy.

ABOUT ME

I change locations and haircuts often. I try to find a balance between roughing it and luxuriating. I like extreme climates and sweeping views. I love languages. And great food. I like airplanes and I know a lot about them. I'm generally quite sensible but I've been known to drive fast when seated in a fine automobile. Which reminds me, I like to drive. I love international borders, and collecting passport stamps.

Music, Movies, and Books

One movie I think about a lot is "The Science of Sleep." One album I listen to a lot is Thom Yorke's "The Eraser." One book that I'm amazed by but find very hard to finish is Lawrence Durrell's "The Alexandria Quartet." Too many of everything to list right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew from Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela to Caracas on a private plane, landed at an airport built on the top of a mountain sitting in the co-pilot's seat. OR: drove through Utah and Colorado, getting desert sun and a snowstorm in the Rockies within hours of each other.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you a lot about airplanes and frequent flyer programs, or give some vocabulary lessons in a few languages, or teach you how to use a camera, or edit a piece of writing. I'd like to improve my languages. And learn to cook interesting things.
