ABOUT ME
Howdy!
My name is Justin and I'm a born and raised Las Vegan. I've been involved with couch surfing (CS) for about four years now, but I did take a hiatus to deal with a very stressful senior year and other personal things. I'm back now and ready to get into the swing of things.
I'm a natural explorer and don't turn down a new adventure. I am also a queer surfer, so just keep that in mind.
PHILOSOPHY
"I am a citizen of the planet
From simple roots through high vision
I am guarded by the angels
My body guides the direction I go in"
I think that sums it up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I see surfing as a means to share interesting and new ideas; an alternative views on the world. As I went through my studies as an anthropologist, I saw the experience as a phenomena of participation, and I was so excited to become a part of it. .
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfing has impressed upon me a new sense of community that you cannot put a price on. I've seen CS as a way to not only learn about the world, but my place in it. It's helped me break away from the norm and seek out my own path.
Interests
I've grown to appreciate the outdoors, you have to when stuck inside for hours at a time with work, school and exhaustion taking over. I enjoy to cook and love to share, learn and teach techniques. I also enjoy dabbling with languages and do my best to get a small dose of enculturation. And when it comes down to it, a good book is just as nice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books, well, hard to stick to anything when there's such a great variety. I think that goes with about all forms of media. Well, there have been a recent influx of poor productions, but I don't want to start a heated debate. *cough cough* TWILIGHT
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2009 I traveled to Antalya on the south coast of Turkey. In the old city, I walked around the ancient city walls and up this massive staircase, built I'm the 4th century BCE. That just struck me, walking streets and by buildings that are so definitive to the history of the world, and all the people who've walked my same path for millennia. It's something I'll cherish my whole life
Teach, Learn, Share
This my favorite part of this program!
History has got to be my biggest advantage. I not only like to flex that muscle, but hone it with more views. Like before, I'm pretty good around the kitchen and enjoy sharing my skill with people. I also enjoy knowing about the local beat of where I am and get to know a place intimately.
