Overview
About Me
I'm not one for clichéd quotes but 4 L words that I live by: Laugh, Learn, Love & Live. If I can approach all of these behaviours with some enthusiasm I have life pretty sorted.
I'm half-Aussie half-English, having grown up in country Australia with an English Mum and a very Australian Dad. My favourite place in the world is the home that my parents built on our farm, and I'm fortunate to have a very close-knit family with 3 younger brothers, 2 nephews and an elderly grandfather nearby.
I'm also fortunate in that I have a very well-travelled family and I've been able to continue that trend. I love to get out and explore the world, nature and the many different cultures that exist.
I'm an upbeat person, I love to laugh and have fun, I'm very easy-going, but also love sincere conversation and to learn and share with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to see the world and our own backyard and seize any opportunity to get out and about. At home, I worked in a community health service as a Health Promotion Officer before embarking on a 7 month trip to England and Europe. My Mum is English and has always kept in touch with her family and friends over here, so I have been very fortunate in being able to spend much of my time visiting old connections. I believe that this has given me a much truer impression of the countries and communities that I've visited, and now that I'm somewhere where I don't have those connections I would love to get to know some locals!
I would love to continue this exchange once I am settled in my own place, and particularly from wherever I may be next in Australia.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to many different genres of music, mostly indie rock & pop, but also classical and occasionally some hip-hoppity hip-hop and old-school rap. I lovelovelove seeing live music, especially small gigs in dark, dingey pubs with sticky floors.
I have also played brass music for a long time and at home I am in the community brass band. It's quite traditional, not particularly cool, but I enjoy the community aspect of it, the required discipline and learning about the structure of music.
I'm not a huge movie buff, but I do enjoy going to the cinema occasionally, even if it's just me. I am a bit of a sucker for an English rom-com such as Bridget Jones' Diary. Although they get repetitive, it can be comforting to watch and relate!
I enjoy reading, I generally have one book on the go, but again I'm not a literary expert. I tend to mix up the genres a bit between travel stories, old classics and light-hearted reads.
