About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning. I am fulfilling my lifelong dream of living the good life in Barcelona, improving my Spanish, learning Catalan, learning to dance, and trying to be quiet and absorb what the world has to teach.
ABOUT ME
Itinerant Vagabond. I am straight forward and honest, and seldom shy away from an interesting discussion or debate, much less a difficult question. I have a restless spirit and the back of my old truck felt more like home than anywhere. Like most people on this site, I love to travel and meet new people from all over the world. In real life I used to be a heavy equipment mechanic. Whenever possible I try to be a singer, and I am now pursuing a career as an ESL teacher in my beloved Barcelona.
PHILOSOPHY
Its a quote, but I try to live by it: "All human suffering is caused by misunderstandings".
I could choose, but I see no reason to. "Can't it be both?"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started couchsurfing while traveling through the south of the US a couple years ago, and hope to have the ability to host wherever the next "home" is also.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had the privilege of being hosted by and meeting a wonderfully diverse, welcoming, interesting group of people throughout the south. I have surfed a few places and also been to several meet-ups in New Orleans and Florida. Most of my couch-surfing friends so far have come from splitting accommodations and ganging up for activities and the like. Traveling alone is so much better with the company and hospitality of all the couch surfers along the way!
Interests
Swing dancing (Lindy hop, Balboa, and Charlston); Blues dancing; Singing; Music; Cooking; the whole web of history, sociology, psychology, and biology that leads people to religion; and metal fabrication.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked from anchor to anchor of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on the catwalk while it was being constructed.
Skydived into Red Cliffs Canyon, Moab UT.
Its not amazing, but I've traveled to 38 states, and lived in 8.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English! I speak Spanish, know a few things about singing, and could probably teach some basic automotive maintenance.
