About Me

Is this the area where you convince other people that you're trustable?

I'm a guy that spends most of the time inside my own head, thinking and dreaming away to situations that hasn't occurred and to places I've never visited. I have too many hobbies that I've never fostered enough to be proficient in, and I'm in search for even more!

At this moment I'm studying CS&E at the Royal Institute of Technology here in Stockholm, mainly focusing on data analysis and machine learning. So at least this is one area I may be somewhat good at. Hopefully I'll have finished my Master's by 2017. And after that I should be free... for a short while. Free enough to travel and use this site.

My dreams are many, and I have the habit of stumping my progress of reaching them by being quite unorganized. I take things as they come and as such I *believe* that I'm quite laidback and calm.

Lately I've been writing quite a lot, both fiction and non-fiction. I've also been learning to sing while playing the guitar. It's something that no one will probably ever get to hear though, cause it's quite embarassing.

Likely trips 2017:
England - Specifically Brighton and Bristol
Wales - Chester

In the dreaming phase 2017-2018:
Mongolia
Tibet
South Korea
Japan

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's 04:57AM in the morning. Another restless night spent on assignments that feel unsolvable. Luckily we humans are blessed with the gift of procrastination.
My procrastination session went from looking at apartments to areas warmer than Sweden, to travelling and then... to Couchsurfing. Will I ever use it? Maybe, probably... most likely. (when I have time)

I'd be stupid to confine oneself in one single place. The world is big and filled with people and wonders. Gotta travel around before your spine starts to crack from just moving around right?

And if I do not travel around, just hearing tales from other corners of the world is in itself a very rewarding experience. My ears are all yours!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always been a fan of science fiction literature and movies. It's this idea about trying to detail the unknown that attracts me so much, whether it's negative or positive. One favorite author of mine is Philip K Dick, a science fiction writer that also manages to incorporate philosophy and metaphysical ideas into his books. "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" is a fantastic work by him and one of my favorite books.

I'm also a fan of older literary works, although I must admit I haven't read much. It's always fascinating to see how people viewed the world 100, 200 or 500 years ago, and still be able to find it so relatable to us and our age.
One of my favorite older works is a compilation of notes by Leonardo Da Vinci. It contains sketches and texts by him, scanned and translated.

I mostly listen to indie-folkish music. Two of my favorite artists are Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan. But my playlist has a little bit of everything, from heavy metal to gansta rap to kpop. In general I'd classify my music as "comfy as hell".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a kid I performed on the guitar in front of the Malaysian embassy delegate and a crowd of roughly 150 people.

Don't think I'd have the nerves to do it nowadays.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you stories about living in Sweden as Chinese Swede (it's not that special). I can share you stories about growing up in Sweden, tell you about the segregation the exists here, the mixture of cultures and also the beauty of it all.

I can tell you stories about dreams I'm trying to pursue and dreams that will just dreams.

I can also share less serious and melodramatic tales, such as my opinions on the US election. Sigh...

And much more...
