CURRENT MISSION

I recently moved to France with hopes to learn the language and immerse myself in the culture. I am really interested in food; from permaculture to eating in unique places. I have joined couch surfing as another way to meet new people, and in all honesty to find places to stay in the meantime! I plan to begin working in a couple months once my French is adequate, and hope to return all the hosting favours once I have a home of my own.

ABOUT ME

I grew up on a small island on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. This taught me a lot about nature, agriculture, arts, and culture and pushed me to explore the outside world. I am curious about all walks of life and what they have to offer, and interested in expanding my understanding of all things! My artistic practice focuses predominantly on painting and photography, but I'm inspired by many modes.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As this is my first time, I imagine my participation would be similar to that I have experienced on workaway and wwoofing. I give to the best of my ability (which is quite a lot!) in an effort to convenience my host. I am very good with cooking, cleaning up, and driven with other tasks. I can also offer my understanding of the English language or lend an empathetic ear to someone who needs it.

Música, películas y libros

My taste varies from Erykah Badu to Bossa-nova, and for literature the list could go on and on. My top three books would probably be 100 Years of Solitude, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, and The Alchemist. I also love listening to podcasts!

Algo increíble que he hecho

During my visit in Morocco I spent 3 nights at a Berber camp in the desert. I am always fundamentally astounded at the simplicity of living and the joy it brings. I was lucky to also have these sensations in Mexico, and look forward to travelling to other places and experiencing the same.
