About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've experienced & been inspired by the strong CS Communities in Italy and want to connect more with my local CS community :) and of course build on 'la mia famiglia Italiana'

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going, spontaneous, adventurous and thoughtful person. Friends say I'm a good problem solver, very practical, motivated and love to chat about all kinds if subjects. I love the outdoors and experiencing new things. I love a challenge and many only see my strong side but I do have a sensitive part once you get to know me. I have a 19 year old daughter who is about to start University, she has also couchsurfed with me. I have a keen interest in outdoor education having studied it to Postgraduate level.

PHILOSOPHY

I treat people as I wish to be treated. I try to avoid negative persons but in life this is often impossible so I try to show compassion and promote positivity to motivate others. I realise that happiness is within one's own mind and I try to nurture this thought in my own life.

I know that life is what you make it, things will only happen if you really want them to. I don't wait for life to pass me by, I LIVE IT.......creating my own personal experiences.

I'm conscious of my own weaknesses and try to be reflective in order to grow as a person, learning from my reflections and embracing the criticisms, strengths and positive qualities of those I meet along the way. My personal and
career paths have taken many twists and turns over the years but I believe that each life experience gives us new challenges, opportunities and directions to move forward purposefully and strengthens us for our onward
journey..... I still have so much to learn :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have surfed in Europe over the last few years but not yet had the chance to become part of a local CS group. I have had great times with the CS Groups of Florence and San Vito lo Capo and feel part of their communities, even if I can't be there as often as I'd like :( I have developed special friendships with CSers across Europe but especially in Italy and I plan to relocate there in the future. I want to participate more in developing a local CS group and to build on the friendships developing within Italy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have made friends around the world from my travels outside of CSing and it's great to keep in touch and share ideas, experiences and friendships. Travelling in the CS way enables a more authentic cultural exchange and opens doors to like minded people wanting to develop mindfully and share travel experiences, I feel my CS family growing and growing and each experience is a unique learning and sharing opportunity. CS gatherings are a great way to network and share food, music, chats and so much more!

Interests

Travelling, the Great Outdoors/Nature, Scuba Diving, Trekking, Squash, Swimming, Camping, Cycling, Music, Volunteering, Gardening, Organic methods & reducing my impact on the environment. Buddhism, Languages, particularly Italian, Sharing & Learning (cultures, cooking, ideas). Love to connect....

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and listening to music - I like mostly everything including indian and tribal music, not really a fan of punk music or heavy metal (maybe one or two songs are ok) also I don't like so much 'headache' music which just beats around my brain :) Movies - mostly anything...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked in Himalayas March 2006..... despite altitude sickness it was one of the most profound trips of my life to date!

Spent 4 months in Borneo Summer 2007, hot, sweaty and physically demanding but wonderful all the same...

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to learn more Italian and French also love picking up new cooking tips especially cooking from different cultures and countries.

I like to fully participate in cultural exchange
and like to learn and share from each new experience.
