About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to survive the big wide world after hiding out in Ghana for two years

ABOUT ME

I founded and run a community development not-for profit organisation in Ghana called Volta Aid Foundation and you can find more about it at www.voltaaidfoundation.org.

That pretty much sums up who I am and what I believe in. I believe in change and living for the moment.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy in life is summed up by the following quotes:

"The grass is greener on the other side"

"We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed worldwide including - Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Spain, UK, Ghana, US - and made some great friends along the way! Also hosted a fair few travelers in Ghana.

Interests

I live and breath football (soccer) and basically any outdoors sports. I'm drawn towards the ocean and natural beauty. I pretend to sing and write.

  • singing
  • beauty
  • running
  • boating
  • outdoor activities
  • sports
  • soccer
  • emergency services

Music, Movies, and Books

Musical genres don't do it for me but, if I must 'genre'lise, then I'd say - alternate music - acoustic - surf music. The Beautiful Girls/Mat McHugh are inspirational.

V for Vendetta is hands down my favourite movie for the message it portrays and it's amazing quotes.

My top books include:
- Three Cups Of Tea
- Wild Swans
- Blood River
- The Wave

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Living in Ghana for over two years - The rugged beauty of Vancouver Island - The majestic caves under Budapest - Participating in schoolroom discussions and assisting in school camps while in Kazakhstan (via a CouchSurfer) - A 6 day, 2750 kilometer boat trip through Siberia that took me to the Arctic Circle and a police stationI have traveled through a lost of parts of the world but feel I have only just scratched the surface. I believe seeing the world educates more than anything else.
