About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To figure out how I want to live through travel.

ABOUT ME

I might use this profile just for myself or for both me and my girlfriend if we are travelling together.

"Let that boy boogie - It's in him, and its got to come out."

Rather than get myself bogged down into a lifestyle I'm not sure I want, I'm taking some time to explore different locations and living arrangements which will hopefully give me some insight into what I want and what I need to do to get it.

And even if I don't see myself with a future in it, I tend toward curiosity, just so I know what's out there.

I can be contemplative for short bursts but I likely rather be doing something active.

I like joking around.

I like stimulation and some conversation.

I like fixing things and tend to have a few tools with me, so I don't mind helping out my hosts. Don't expect anything, mind you (I might just want to rest!), but I would probably enjoy helping out with the messed up light switch or the weed whacker in the garage or the power steering belt in your car. I like puzzles.

PHILOSOPHY

- Do wander and explore.

- Do try to improve yourself.

- Do try to help other people.

- Accept the grey zones of being human, don't waste time trying to answer questions you can't. It's like using a hammer as a screw driver - it won't work, you'll make a lot of noise for no reason, and you'll probably break something.

- don't make such serious profiles that give people the impression you don't like being kinda nuts

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a traveler and host (and I try to do events too).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Volunteering for flood cleanup in VT and staying with a family I was helping on their dairy farm - it wasn't through CS but it was exactly the kind of thing I was looking to do - seeing a unique way of life and helping out at the same time - and totally unplanned, too.

I've done a handful of couchsurfing and hosteling jaunts around the US.

I haven't been so active on CS since the big shift to new management a few years back but I want to get back into it.

Interests

- Outdoors.
Biking, hiking, running, tree climbing (rope),
- Mechanical anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like riding my bike.

Really, that's something I try to do everywhere I go.

I dunno, life is pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd say I have a lot of mechanical skills with repair and adjustment, I'm familiar with climbing techniques (within the world of tree climbing), general rope work skills, I know about living out in the woods in a log cabin and being in nature, I know about computer networking and wireless internet. I used to work estate sales and know how to sort through piles of junk for the good stuff and generally I know what something is worth even if it's broken and covered in dust and dirt.

Practical skills are more my thing than say...healing energy crystals. If your energy crystal needs maintenance or repair I recommend you consult the owner's manual or your local energy crystal retailer.
