Overview
About Me
*No week-end requests. I work week-ends, so not at home.*
I might be a rather timid person, but don't let that scare you. I'm still social, and always looking for new opportunities.
In day-to-day life, I'm a librarian. So reading would be on the top of my list as favorite pastime.
I also love cooking (vegetarian though), music, reading, climbing, hiking, ... I'm open to anything and to learn everything.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life to the fullest, you won't get a second chance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting new people from around the world in a no-nonsense and social way. I also want to open up my home for folks who want the same experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Limited, but really enjoying it!
Interests
I like hiking and culture, reading, ...
I also like music, and play the cello (a bit). Next to that, I'm a folkdancer, open for any other styles as well! Would love to learn the tango.
Adventurous sports are another thing that float my boat. (har har) I have a kayak in the city, so I can always take guests on a tour through the city waters. Nice way to explore Ghent from a different angle!
Climbing is another one of my many hobbies. With the biggest climbing hall of Europe at my disposition, it's hard to find me leisurely at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very wide interest in genres.
For music it goes from metal to classical with the necessary folk, fado or even poppy songs in between.
Concerning books, anything is welcome, though thrillers or detectives aren't really my thing. Some of my favorites are:
- The foundation series - Asimov
- 100 years of solitude - Márquez
- Shalimar the clown - Rushdie
- The master and Margarita - Bulgakov
- ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not much of a travel expert (yet) and thusly haven't done many really "amazing" things.
First that comes to mind is mountainbiking in Austria and the Canary Islands though. Loved the thrill of that, and the views.
Travelling alone in itself is actually also pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
As aforementioned, I can take you on a kayak tour, take you to go climbing, dancing, ...
I love to cook, so guests are always welcome to join me for dinner.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food! And of course my lovely company ;-)
