Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly, I just registered so I’m not really sure about what this question is asking or the ways I can participate. I mean, if anyone wants to come to Columbus, then I will gladly show you around the city, so maybe that counts?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Again, I am new to this program but I’ve certainly had experience couch-surfing. For three years I lived in a house that was always hosting traveling guests so I think I would be a competent host. Also, I’ve traveled around a bit on tour and couch-surfed that way, so I know how to show gratitude. Most importantly, I think, is that I am very considerate, not messy, helpful, and I don’t make a lot of noise – you’ll have a quiet house if I am there (or raucous conversation if you prefer)!
Interests
just a few: reading, eating, noisy musick and tape-trading, veganism, cooking, traveling either with intent or just aimlessly, cats, talking about conspiracy theories and theories about space/time/etc., scuba diving, action movies, coffee, eating, reading, a bit of gardening, dumpster diving, rolling dice, shooting pool, playing chess but not being good at it whatsoever, learning all of the time!!!!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: goregrind, brutal death metal, crust and d-beat
Movies: not a huge fan of capital-C ‘Cinema’ so I can’t name anything unusual; I love the original 3 Star Wars movies (thee ONLY Star Wars movies), action movies, grim crime thrillers, film noir, documentaries
Books: far too many to mention, but some of my favorites include:
The Castle and Amerika by Franz Kafka
The End of a Mission by Heinrich Boll
The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass
Gargantua and Pantagruel by Francois Rabelais
To the Hermitage by Malcolm Bradbury
New York: a Serendipitor's Journey by Gay Talese
The Good Soldier Schweik - Jaroslav Hasek (not to be confused with The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford, which I hate more than any book I've ever read)
all Calvin and Hobbes collections, book-length nonfiction on any subject, David Lodge, Patrick McGinley, etc. etc. etc. BOOK AVALANCHE 24/7!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i was walking around in the country near where i used to live. its in a valley, so i was surrounded by mountains and the river, with rock formations jutting out everywhere and remnants of old walls. i decided to sit down for a moment, and in the crumbled foundation/pit of an old house were embers of a fire - i was able to sit and warm myself surrounded by complete quiet! what luck!
