ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Wilf and I'm from London. I study Philosophy and am interested in many things, especially seeing new places and having new adventures!

PHILOSOPHY

'The spirit of man lies in new experiences.' Quote from the film Into the Wild. I really like it at the moment.

Trying to see the world in an unselfish way and act unselfishly. I guess travelling around is like a way to help with this, where you immerse yourself in new experiences, new places, surrounded by new people, so that what's most important is not your self but what can be learned from other people and places around you.

Being grateful for the small things.

Also we should never forget how lucky we are to be here and alive and well and have the friends and the homes we have. These are things to always be grateful for.

I like many ideas in eastern philosophy and Buddhism. I want to live my life more aware of the little things I normally take for granted.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't had much experience yet, but I hope to participate by being a friendly couchsurfer and as soon as possible make my couch available to couchsurfers.

兴趣

Music! I love to play and listen to music. Also walking, being in nature, wilderness, thinking, Philosophy, travelling, hitchhiking, films, reading, being by the sea, learning new languages, although haven't had much chance to learn languages recently.

Many many. Films - Into the Wild, films by Studio Ghibli like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke. The Dharma Bums and On the Road by Jack Kerouac. Books by Haruki Murakami. Existentialism and Humanism by Sartre. Books by the philosopher Keirkegaard. He is amazing. Music - Beirut, Regina Spektor, Bon Iver, Arvo Part, Bob Dylan. I love folk music.

The Northern Lights in Lofoten, northern Norway, by the sea, SO many stars, and a HUGE bright full moon.

I can play a little guitar and piano and speak a little French... I guess those are things I can teach people, but I don't know a huge amount about them. I love to learn new languages, so that's something I would really like to get from somebody else. Also to learn other peoples' stories of their lives and adventures.
